I have been playing around a lot with Maya and MatchMover, and I am really digging scene matching. The 3d text was added with MatchMover, and the color grading was done in After Effects. The footage is courtesy of Artbeats.
I hope to create some more technically challenging scenes as I become better at Match Moving, and I would probably have to go shoot my own footage as well
3D City Scapes

I enjoy creating 3d cityscapes in Maya. I have always been fascinated with city scape photographs and aerial shots. I created the above scene with the help of a script I came across recently. I plan to create more variations, and maybe texture the buildings as well.
I’ll keep you posted... Read More...

As I mentioned once before, it seems almost impossible to keep my mind focused on a project long enough to complete it... well properly anyway. I keep getting new ideas to try out, and the projects I may be working on at the moment just seem to take a back seat to the newer ones. I guess I need to start taking notes, lots of notes... I Just worked on another intro brand teaser option... just can’t seem to focus long enough. I think if I was still in middle school or high school, I would probably be labeled with ADHD or something. (yeah!)
Anyrate, I will keep going while I still have new things popping up in my head.
Branding

So, I did not quite complete my Mommieland project. I got slightly carried away by some other project ideas. I will hopefully try as much as possible to refine it. The present version can be seen in the motion video section. But now I have set my eyes on network ID’s. I will try to come up with some ideas, and then carry the project through from concept to completion. I will post my ideas and progress whenever possible...

MOMMIELAND

So I made some progress on my scheduled assignment. I planned on working on the title treatment for Zombieland. It is not quite complete yet, because I have some technical issues to resolve. Obviously if I plan on animating I could do some more modeling for some of the other stuff, or I could just paint and composite in After Effects... stay tuned! Read More...
Moored Trailer Title

I happened to be watching some movie trailers on iTunes, and I realized that if I needed to find inspiration, sometimes it helps to attempt to recreate stuff other people have done. The images above show a screenshot of the title treatment for ARMORED and my adaptation using Maya and After Effects... Read More...
Ambient Occlusion In Maya

I have been playing around in Maya a whole lot lately, partly because I am presently without a job
Learning By Doing

I have been a little occupied lately, working on creating a demo reel and other freelance projects. The completed George Mason (my alma mater) 3D logo above was modeled using Illustrator and Maya. The background was created using fractal noise, CC lens and the four color gradient effect. It has given me the opportunity to learn a lot by actually DOING something.... Read More...

After taking such a long hiatus, I figured it was time to get back into MAYA. Well, it wasn’t really a hiatus, I was just watching too many Lynda.com tutorials. So, I decided to break away for a while... Read More...
